Yesterday, we were honoured to be invited to sing at South Devon College’s annual Remembrance Service. For the past seven years, Y6 pupils at Sacred Heart have participated in the poignant event by reading their self-penned war poetry. This year, along with the poems, we brought along sixteen young singers to mark this special day. It was by far my proudest moment as a headteacher so far as the children brought tears to the eyes of hundreds of staff and learners at the college as well as other visiting dignitaries. The children were outstanding in every sense of the word and were great ambassadors for Sacred Heart.
As a reward and thank you, the children were treated to bacon sandwiches, biscuits, cake and squash in the VIP area. Their smiles say it all.
